Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Project Manager/Project General Manager/ Assistant Project General Manager /Managing Director

Key Authority:

  1. Purchase of urgent site material, hardware and tool (amount not exceeding RM 5,000)
  2. Cease further construction works at site if non-conformance encountered.
  3. Give verbal warning/penalties to site staff in case of safety instructions are not being followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cease further construction works at the site if any non-conformance issues are encountered, ensuring compliance with project standards.
  2. Liaise with site representatives regarding all project and site operations, facilitating effective communication and coordination.
  3. Verify the adequacy of drawings and technical specifications, maintaining and disseminating them to ensure project clarity.
  4. Monitor the progress of construction operations, ensuring that work is executed according to project timelines and specifications.
  5. Supervise, plan, and direct the construction workforce daily, ensuring that work is conducted efficiently and safely.
  6. Collaborate with HRA department for the recruitment of site personnel and arrange and monitor the work performance, ensuring effective team performance.
  7. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages professional development and innovation.
  8. Coordinate and liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, nominated sub contractors workers (NSC), and subcontractors to promote effective collaboration, while maintaining and strengthening relationships with clients, client representatives, and consultants, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through continuous improvement efforts.
  9. Work collaboratively with the safety officer and supervisor to address site safety issues to ensure that safe and healthy working arrangements are established and maintained, complying with relevant regulations.
  10. Oversee the inspection, verification, and security of construction work, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  11. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to any project-related issues through designated channels, verifying the implementation of solutions.
  12. Take proactive measures to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities, ensuring compliance with project standard and quality assurance control.
  13. Ensure respective site personnel and Project Executive maintain and update proper record of project documentation whichever related project operation and handing over.
  14. Monitor and control material wastage on-site, implementing strategies to minimize waste.
  15. Assess and recommend the engagement of subcontractors and suppliers as approved vendors, ensuring quality and reliability.
  16. Recruit and organize suppliers, subcontractors, and NSCs, for effective project operations.
  17. Establish, assign, monitor departmental task to team members, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional growth.
  18. Keep abreast of changes in authorities regulations and legislation, ensuring the company’s compliance with all legal requirements.
  19. Monitoring, maintaining and update Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  20. Ensure the proper implementation and maintenance of ISO-related records to uphold quality standards within the organization.
  21. Act as the appointed Internal Auditor, conducting audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  22. Participate in and undertake ad-hoc assignments as directed by the management

Minimum Qualification : Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant field and CIDB Accredited

Minimum Experience               : 7 years in related field
